Have you ever thought about running a 5K, finding a new exercise program, or supporting a good cause? Well, I have an opportunity for you to do all three (read on to learn more)!.


I was recently contacted by Aaptiv to see if I would be interested in becoming involved in their 5K Your Way 2018 event. After getting an email from them, it was almost a no-brainer that I would accept (because I LOVE Aaptiv and the workouts they offer). However. there still was a fair bit of resistance come up with the idea of committing to a 5K event. I am only an occasional runner, and have only ever done a 5K once so I wasn’t too sure if I would be in the mood to do it the day of (or if I would just let my laziness get in the way).


However, after going back and forth, I realized that this was the perfect excuse to do another 5K (I had actually been thinking of doing another one but kept putting it off!). I’m also a huge fan of Aaptiv and really believe in their app so was excited to get involved. As a result, I’ve decided to fully commit to participating in Aaptiv’s 5K Your Way 2018 virtual run on October 27th, 2018.

Aaptiv is an on-demand audio fitness workout that allows you to workout pretty much anywhere, anytime. Once downloaded on your phone, you literally have access to thousands of workouts of your choosing. With a monthly (or yearly) subscription, you can choose to do outdoor running, treadmill workouts, elliptical workouts, yoga, strength training, indoor cycling, rowing, strength training, and so much more! It also filters the workouts by difficulty (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and provides fitness programs to help you achieve any fitness goal.


What really separates Aaptiv from other workouts though is the music and personal trainer prompts that go along with it. With trainer-led workouts that feature popular music in every genre, Aaptiv workouts will quickly become a favorite of yours!

On October 27th, 2018, Aaptiv is teaming up with Charity Miles to host a virtual charity 5K run (but you can walk it as well). To register, all you need to do is sign up here. Also be sure to set up an account with Charity Miles to help support a cause while you train/race. On October 27th, just connect to Charity Miles, choose your Aaptv run and start your 5K. There is no start time for the event so whatever time is most convenient for you will work. To prepare for the race, Aaptiv has a ton of workouts you can do, and even has a 5K training plan (however, there is unfortunately not enough time to complete it all before race day).


To help support a good cause, Aaptiv has teamed up with Charity Miles to raise money to a charity of your choice. For this 5K event, I have chosen Girl Up – a nonprofit organization that supports Women’s rights. Girl Up empowers women to become leaders for gender equality by providing women with the skills they need to become gender equality advocates and activists. Through comprehensive programs, Girl Up is able to promote women’s health, education, safety, and rights. So every mile you track on Charity Miles, you are supporting an organization that truly represents WELL-THY living!
